Could natural flea remedy poison my dog?
My dog recently got fleas so by boyfriend got a natural flea remedy called "only natural pet" the all in one flea remedy. it contains diatomaceous earth, sage, eucalyptus, yellow rock root, fennel seed, and rosemary leaf. She has been on this powder cure for about 2-3 days and now is having diarrhea, drools a lot, and had an accident when she was picked up yesterday. She's never had these problems previously, could it be the powder? If not what would you recommend? She is 3 years old, 50 lb, and a chow- german sheppard mix from a rescue.
I have called a vet and she will be going in later today however I'm just a worried pet owner. I have bathed her to get all of the powder off of her and I got advantage. The previous vet I had said it works the best .
Also, the bottle says it is vet approved. I know that could just be bull but just wanted to put it out there if it was in some way helpful.

Natural Dog Remedies
What do the directions say? There has to be a cautionary note on external use only and what to do if ingested. Anyway, CALL YOUR VET!
Natural Dog Foods
That ought to raise the flag for you about home (natural) remedies or questionable herbal cures. Stop the powder, have your dog checked by a vet and treated for this reaction, then start her on Frontline plus, or Advantage. Whatever the VET recommends.
natural+pet+remedies
go to petsmart and take the only natural pets box with you ask if hes old enough to use it ps do it as soon as u can because your dog can die if he of she is to small
Homeopathy For Dogs
“Natural” does not mean “safe”. It absolutely *could* be the problem!
Take your dog to the vet and get a reliable flea preventive, such as Advantage or Frontline.
Cyanide is a naturally occurring substance, but it’s certainly not “safe”.

it probably couls have been but ive never used a powder one but i tihnk its palve on the dog right well your dog could have licked it and gotten poisioned i recomend to go to the vet because theres nothing you can do at home u should go because if it too strong it can poison the dogs organs and start to fail and then die when he has fleas i recomed to us a liquid one that is place in the back of its head where the dog can not reach it when hes licking or scratching himself

I am not a vet, but the diatomaceous earth is also used in pool filters. I wish I could say that natural is always the way to go, but sometimes even in humans natural remedies can have side affects. If the dog is experiencing these problems I would think they would have a direct correlation to the flea remedy. I wouldn’t allow it to go on. I would call your vet and consult them ASAP. My friend used an over the counter flea and tick ointment on her dog and it burnt his skin. So you see what works for some doesn’t always work for another. Good luck I know how stressful this all can be.
