Natural pet remedies are readily available which offer risk-free, effective alleviation for many typical pet illnesses. I have a ridgeback and she has had an ear operation and has always been allergic to something and noone can figure out to what. Sometimes the scratching and biting is so bad she makes her ears bleed and cries out in pain. We give her some anti histemine stuff occasionally, other times we cover her paws with a sock. Her eyes also emit this mucus like substance ad we wach it out her eyes with some tea. Has anyone dealt with anything like this? What did you do for your pet? The vet is helpful but not really. The meds are expensive and she wants us to come in for a visit every 6 months at $200 a visit plus meds. We do it about once a year but we really would like to find a natural/organic way of helping her. Anything you can recommend will be greatly appreciated as we feel so bad for her and at this point i think we all feel impotent and are scared that her ear scratching will cause another infection and another $2,000 operation.

Be aware of your pet's health and fitness. Get in the habit of giving him or her a routine exam frequently so you can spot any strange circumstances and take the correct steps before these become truly serious and complicated to deal with. Whenever you do need to treat your pet, select natural and herbal remedies to make sure you are choosing a gentle approach to your pet's condition. Minimize the use of strong medications that might cause significant side-effects long term.

Natural dog remedies are usually readily available all over the internet but it's not always easy to know just what treatment is most beneficial to buy. A lot of the pet foods are actually filled with unnatural ingredients that may harm or even kill your pet. Make it a point to check ingredients and get only the foods you've investigated yourself and found to be made with healthy, nutritious ingredients. Oftentimes switching to a natural diet, rather then commercial pet food, will see a huge improvement in your dog's health.

Most of the preferred natural pet remedies are offered on line. Check out some of the products referenced on our website for a starting point. It may seem a little difficult to acquire beneficial organic and natural products but if you carry out just a little exploration you will find all the natural pet remedies you need. Most cost a bit more than the products at your superstore, but isn't your pet worth it?

The key to giving a dog an antihistamine is that you have to give it regularly and it helps to give it before the symptoms develop if you know your dog has allergies. Also, we switched to Royal Canin’s Skin Support dog food and have had a lot less problems with our dog that has allergies similar to your dog’s. It’s expensive, but worth it. I’m assuming you have had her ears checked to make certain she has no earmites or fungal or yeast infection. That could cause the scratching.

I used to have to give my rottie benedryl. It didn’t seem to bother her. As soon as she started scratching I would give it to her and I would give it to her daily as needed. This keep the itching under control so she wasn’t hurting herself scratching. It always worked for me and made her very happy too!

The benadryl will work in the short term, but you may want to look at the food you are giving the dog. I have found that some dogs have a sensitivity to some of the grains in many commercial dog foods. Switch your ridgie to a lamb-and -rice based food (Nutro Natural Lamb and Rice) or a duck-and-potato based food may help a lot. I had a Dalmatian who developed lick granulomas on her feet from the itching, and these disappeared when I changed her food to the lamb and rice based food..
Good luck!

Spray the areas with Bitter Apple. She’ll **** the smell and won’t bother biting so much.
